Anxiety does not always look like panic. Sometimes it is constant thinking, replaying conversations, expecting something to go wrong, struggling to make decisions or feeling as though you always need to stay one step ahead.
Stress can be equally difficult to recognise when being busy, responsible and “coping” has simply become your normal.
I am less interested in telling you how to stop feeling anxious and more interested in understanding what your anxiety is doing, when it appears and what may be keeping it there.
Working together
What we might explore
Together, we may notice recurring thoughts and patterns, explore what triggers particular responses and pay attention to what happens emotionally and physically when anxiety appears.
Because I work integratively, our sessions are not limited to talking. Depending on you and what emerges, I may draw on person-centred therapy, CBT, experiential work, metaphor, imagery, visualisation or hypnotherapeutic techniques.
The aim is not to force anxiety away, but to understand your relationship with it and help you develop different ways of responding.
You don't need to arrive with an explanation.
You may know exactly what you are anxious about. Or you may simply know that you don't feel like yourself.
Either is enough for us to begin.
A space for you
Where we meet.
A place to begin
Let’s start with a conversation.
You don’t need to know exactly where to start. We can talk about what is bringing you to therapy and see whether working together feels right.
