Our emotional and physical experiences do not exist in completely separate worlds.
Stress, fear and difficult experiences can sometimes exist alongside physical sensations or changes in the body. You may also notice that certain sensations appear or intensify during particular situations or emotional periods.
But I do not begin by assuming that a physical symptom is psychological.
Working together
Curiosity, not assumption.
Where appropriate, therapy can give us space to become curious about what you notice in your body, when it happens, what else is happening in your life and whether any patterns begin to emerge.
Because of the way I work, we can explore not only thoughts but emotions, physical responses, imagery and the meaning you give to what you experience.
This work does not replace medical assessment or treatment. New, persistent or concerning physical symptoms should be appropriately medically assessed.
Therapy can instead offer another space in which to understand your experience as a whole person rather than treating mind and body as completely unrelated.
A space for you
Where we meet.
A place to begin
Let’s start with a conversation.
You don’t need to know exactly where to start. We can talk about what is bringing you to therapy and see whether working together feels right.
