Sometimes low self-esteem sounds obvious: I'm not good enough.
Sometimes it is quieter.
It can look like comparing yourself with others, needing reassurance, finding compliments uncomfortable, being afraid to take up space, constantly questioning your decisions or believing everybody else somehow knows what they are doing better than you do.
Working together
I am interested in where that voice came from.
Together, we can explore the experiences, relationships, expectations and beliefs that have contributed to the way you see yourself today.
We may notice the standards you hold yourself to, the way you speak to yourself and the parts of yourself you have learned to hide, criticise or minimise.
The aim is not to replace every uncomfortable thought with a positive one.
For me, confidence is much more interesting than that. It is about developing a relationship with yourself that is less dependent on proving your worth and more grounded in knowing it.
